1917 First Edition Songs of the Soldiers and Sailors U.S. Booklet

A first edition copy of Songs of the Soldiers and Sailors U.S., published in 1917 during World War I. Issued by the Commissions on Training Camp Activities of the Army and Navy Departments, the booklet contains the lyrics to 69 patriotic, military, and popular songs intended for use in Army and Navy training camps.

Published shortly after the United States entered World War I, booklets like this were distributed to encourage group singing and boost morale among servicemen during training.

The cover features a black-and-white photograph of a group of soldiers. The front is stamped "Jess R. Dunn, 1024 Harlan St., Falls City, Nebraska," preserving the name and address of a previous owner.

Good antique condition. Age-related wear, toning, and handling wear consistent with age.
