Antique English Ironstone Plates
Description
A stack of antique English ironstone plates by Staffordshire makers, including Alfred Meakin, J. & G. Meakin, Powell Bishop, Richard Alcock, and I. Meir & Son. Made for everyday use in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, these utilitarian plates are prized for their weight, durability, and patina developed over decades of use. Creamy white glazes, classic forms, and all have signs of wear and age.
I’ve included images of the most prominent chips, staining, and crazing. Additional images available upon request.
