Antique French Earthenware Jug
Description
A large antique French earthenware jug finished in brown glaze with green glaze accents and black drips. Originally used for storing and carrying water, wine, and other household provisions, vessels of this type were common throughout rural France during the 19th century.
This large example features a rounded form, single handle, and richly varied glaze with areas of wear consistent with age and use. No chips or cracks. Beautiful for display on its own or layered into a pottery collection.
Dimensions: Approx. 12” tall x 9” wide
Condition: Age-related wear consistent with use.
