Antique French Footed Terracotta Faisselle

A beautifully aged antique French faisselle in warm terracotta with a rich reddish-brown glaze. Traditionally used in the production and draining of fresh cheeses, faisselles have become beloved decorative objects for their rustic character and centuries-old utility.

This example features a cylindrical form raised on three feet, with hand-pierced drainage holes and a softly worn glaze that reveals its age and use. The feet sit slightly unevenly, causing the piece to rest just off-kilter—a charming reminder of its handmade origins.
