Antique French Muguet Transferware Plate by Amandinoise
Description
A charming antique French transferware plate in the Muguet pattern by Amandinoise of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux. Rendered in a soft green transfer, the design features sprays of lily of the valley framed by an ornate border, creating a delicate and distinctly French presentation.
The pattern name, Muguet (pronounced moo-gay), translates to lily of the valley, a flower long associated with French tradition and celebrated as a symbol of good luck and the arrival of spring. The botanical motif is paired with the maker's distinctive rooster mark, a hallmark of Amandinoise production.
Produced in the renowned ceramics region of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux in northern France, Amandinoise wares are appreciated for their decorative transferware patterns and quality faience production during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Circa 1900–1920.
Measurements: 8 1/2" diameter
