Repaired Vintage Ivory Stoneware Jug
Description
Vintage ivory glazed stoneware jug with a classic utilitarian form and single applied handle. This style of narrow-neck stoneware vessel was commonly used for storing whiskey or moonshine. Finished in a warm creamy glaze with subtle speckling and natural glaze drips at the lip.
The jug previously broke cleanly at the shoulder ridge — the entire upper portion above the band separated in one piece. It has been carefully repaired using a strong ceramic adhesive. The repair is structurally secure and the piece feels solid and stable. A visible hairline remains along the original break line and is reflected in the price.
Likely mid-20th century. Best suited for decorative use.
Approx. 11” tall x 6 1/2” wide
