Vintage Blue Glazed Stoneware Crock

Finished in a vivid periwinkle-blue glaze, this vintage stoneware crock features a simple utilitarian form with an exposed buff clay rim and base. The look is strongly reminiscent of mid-century Scandinavian kitchen pottery, circa 1950s–1970s, though the exact origin is unknown.

The underside is debossed “C-1LB,” likely indicating a one-pound capacity. Equally useful in the kitchen for salt, jam, or matches as it is in a bathroom for soap or vanity items, it also works beautifully on a desk holding pens and pencils. The saturated blue pairs especially well with rustic woods, creamware, and other pottery.
