Vintage French Woodland Path Landscape Oil Painting

Unsigned oil on panel by a French artist, likely painted circa 1930–1950. The composition depicts a winding woodland path leading through dense trees and layered greenery, rendered in a loose, impressionistic style. Varied shades of green, ochre, and soft brown create a richly textured landscape, while the dappled path and feathery brushwork through the trees give the scene a quiet, atmospheric quality.

The painting is executed on board with a softly blended surface and loose brushwork typical of mid-century French landscape studies and plein-air sketches. The reverse is marked with the number “2,” a notation commonly found on French artist boards of the period.

Presented in a carved wood frame made in Mexico with hand-carved diagonal detailing and a metal hanging loop at the top. 

Likely dating to the first half of the 20th century, the painting has a small, versatile scale that works well on a bookshelf, displayed on an easel, or hung on a wall.
