Vintage Glass Humidor with Art Nouveau Lid
Description
A heavy clear glass tobacco humidor with vertical ribbing and a thick, faceted base. Ornate lid featuring raised floral motifs and flowing scrollwork in the Art Nouveau style, likely cast metal with silver-plate. Copper is visible through the patina.
Tobacco humidors were designed to store loose tobacco and help prevent it from drying out. For modern use, it's a butiful display vessel for bathroom essentials, like cotton balls and swabs, used as storage for candy, or candled.
Circa early 20th century.
