Antique English Adams Rose Staffordshire Pearlware Plate, c. 1830–1840

Early 19th-century English Staffordshire pearlware plate by Adams, circa 1830–1840. Pearlware is a refined earthenware developed in England in the late 1700s, distinguished by its pale body and slightly blue-tinted glaze. Hand-painted in the Adams Rose pattern with deep pink florals and green feathered leaves. Scalloped rim with impressed ADAMS maker’s mark on back. The Adams family was producing pottery in Staffordshire by the 17th century, with impressed ADAMS marks documented from the late 18th century onward.
