Antique French Chamonix Transferware Plate by Faïencerie d'Onnaing
Description
A charming antique French transferware plate in the Chamonix pattern by Faïencerie d'Onnaing. Rendered in a soft green transfer, the design features an intricate lace-like floral border that frames the plate beautifully while remaining versatile for everyday styling and display.
Produced by the renowned Faïencerie d'Onnaing in northern France, the Chamonix pattern reflects the decorative transferware traditions that made the factory one of France's most respected ceramic manufacturers during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The detailed border and crisp green transfer pair especially well with white ironstone, creamware, and other French and English tablewares.
Founded in 1821, the Faïencerie d'Onnaing operated until 1938 and is particularly admired today for its decorative faience and transferware patterns.
Circa 1890–1910.
Measurements: 9 1/4" diameter
Condition: Light surface wear consistent with age and use.
