Description
An antique floral oil painting on thick artist's board, sourced from France. Loose brushstrokes and areas of thicker impasto paint create beautiful texture throughout, while the muted olive-toned background allows the pink and burgundy blooms to take center stage.
The composition depicts an assortment of blooming flowers, including what appear to be hollyhocks, lilies, and hydrangeas.
The painting is set within its original textured gilt border, which has faded over time to a mostly dark finish with scattered losses, particularly along the right edge. The reverse retains an old fabric hanging tab and evidence of a former label.

Condition: Good antique condition with age-related wear throughout. Expected surface wear and patina consistent with age. The original textured gilt border shows scattered losses and wear, most noticeably along the right side. Reverse shows remnants of a former label and retains its original fabric hanging tab.
