Antique French Terre de Fer Bowl

A beautiful antique French terre de fer bowl featuring delicate blue-green floral transfers against warm ivory ironstone. Though unmarked (which is not uncommon), the decoration is consistent with Longwy's Mignon pattern, a well-known late 19th- to early 20th-century design characterized by graceful botanical motifs and soft coloration.

The gently flared form makes it equally useful as a fruit bowl or decorative accent. Lovely styled on a kitchen counter filled with seasonal fruit, displayed on open shelving, or incorporated into a collection of antique French tableware.

Produced in France during the late 19th to early 20th century, terre de fer was prized for its durability and refined decorative transfers. Larger bowls are increasingly sought after today due to their versatility and relative scarcity compared to plates and platters.
