Vintage Black Studio Stoneware Vessel

Vintage signed studio stoneware vessel with a low, rounded silhouette and small centered neck opening. The minimalist profile features two subtle lug handles integrated into the body.

Finished in a layered black glaze with cratered, mineral-like texture and subtle tonal variation. The piece was fired using a reduction technique — meaning it was fired in a low-oxygen kiln, which deepens the glaze color and creates the smoky, varied surface seen here. The natural irregularities and raw surface quality align well with wabi-sabi style interiors.

Likely circa 1970s–1980s. Signed. Wheel-thrown with visible throwing lines and natural kiln wear to the base.
