An original oil-on-canvas painting depicting a rural village street with stone houses, tiled rooftops, and rolling countryside beyond. Executed in thick impasto with a palette knife and loaded brush, the surface is heavily textured, with visible directional strokes and layered pigment.

The work reflects mid-20th century French post-Impressionist influence — simplified architectural forms, earthy ochres and terracotta tones, and loose atmospheric handling of sky and landscape. The emphasis is on surface and light rather than fine detail, consistent with regional village studies produced in France in the years immediately following World War II.
