Vintage Mexican Terracotta Cazuela de Barro Cooking Vessel
Description
A beautiful traditional Mexican terracotta cooking vessel, known as a cazuela de barro, handcrafted in warm orange terracotta with olive-green glazing around the handles and rim. The interior is accented with a hand-painted curlicue design in deep brown, creating a lively decorative border that reflects the artistry of traditional Mexican earthenware.
Originally used for preparing and serving everything from stews and braises to beans and sauces, today it makes an equally striking decorative object. Style it on open shelving, atop a kitchen island filled with seasonal fruit, or layered alongside other pottery forms.
